Tenure Track Assistant Professor

The Department of Communication in the School of Media and Communication at Bowling Green State University seeks a tenure track assistant professor with expertise in relational communication to start August 2012. The department is particularly interested in applicants who express research interests in health related topics and/or in organizational communication.

Minimum qualifications include a completed doctoral degree by August 8, 2012, scholarly potential, and evidence of effective teaching. The primary responsibilities include research, teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students, and service. While we welcome applicants from a range of theoretical and methodological approaches, preference will be given to those with social scientific research expertise and interests in health communication with an emphasis in either organizational communication or interpersonal communication.  Candidates with grant acquisition experience or potential for grant success are particularly encouraged to apply as it is expected that the successful candidate will establish an externally funded research program.

The BGSU Department of Communication has 15 full-time faculty and 350+ undergraduate majors. It also teaches more than 2000 students each year in the basic course. The department is part of the School of Media and Communication that offers Ph.D. and MA degrees in media studies and in communication and culture. Faculty Tenure Track 9 mo Communication Studies -[Job #990279]-Stark Campus – North Canton, OH


Opportunity for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position beginning Fall semester 2012, as Assistant Professor of Communications, with a specialization in Organizational Communication. 
The successful candidate will teach courses such as Business and Professional Communication, Organizational Communication, Training and Development, or others within his/her specialties.  The teaching load is twelve (12) semester hours per term, with the expectation of scholarly activity and service to the University.

The School of Communication Studies on Kent State University at Stark campus offers the complete bachelor’s degree, with concentrations in Applied Communication, Interpersonal Communication and Organization Communication.  The campus is located in Stark County about 35 minutes from Kent State’s main campus in Kent, Ohio.  The Stark Campus has 4,800 undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications:  A Ph.D. in Communication (or a foreign degree equivalent), evidence of scholarship and teaching experience in Organization Communication are required.  ABD candidates are invited to apply if the Doctoral degree will be awarded and in hand by August 2012.  One (1) or more years of demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching preferred.

Adjunct faculty, Clark State Community College

Instructors needed for teach day and evening communication courses at Clark State Community College on the Springfield, Beavercreek, Xenia, and Bellfountaine campuses.  Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication courses are the primary need. 

A minimum of 18 graduate hours are required in the communication, a master's degree in communication is preferred.
